It may not be the most exciting thing, but as we move forward with the braking system for the locomotive and source all the relevant components, we will also need a lot of pipework. So to fund the purchase of numerous lengths of copper and 2" steel pipes, I am happy to launch the 'Pipes are Calling' fund to raise money to enable us to stockpile what we need and have it available when required. As you can see the schematic is quite extensive and complicated.

With the assembled crank-axle wheel-set returning to us shortly, thought move onto fitting of the leading and trailing wheel-sets to the locomotive. To pave the way for a rolling chassis, we are launching the 'Get on Track' fund to rise the estimated £10,000 to cover machining of the axle boxes and phosphor bronze bearings, as well as a lot of labour! We have all of the components.

The aim of the Motion Fund is to help to pay for all the connecting rods, eccentric rods, valve rods expansion links, eccentrics and associated components. The Fund aims to raise £90,000 by 150 people giving £600, either as a lump sum or in instalments of either 10 or 6.

The fund to raise money for the crossheads, Cash for Crossheads, is now fully subscribed and so we have now closed it. Thank you to everyone who donated. The orders has been placed and we have already received as few of the smaller pieces, such as gudgeon pins and oil boxes. The main crosshead bodies will be us shortly.
BECOME A SHAREHOLDER
Invest in the future of steam locomotive power by becoming a shareholder; the minimum amount you can buy is £100.00. Shareholders who are UK taxpayers may be eligible for tax relief under the Governments "Enterprise Investment Scheme". Under this scheme UK taxpayers could currently receive a 30% refund on their investment. The Class G5 Locomotive Company is a Limited company and is VAT registered.

By paying a sum of as little as £5 per month (you can obviously pay more) to the Friends you will build up an amount which will at a later date be transferred to the G5 Company. At that point shares will be issued to the Superfriend. The minimum amount to qualify for shares is £100.00 and UK taxpayers may be able to receive a tax repayment of 30% of your payments under the Governments E.I.S. scheme. Subject to HMRC rules.
